Welcome to CPAC’s 2014 Annual Members Show. For this year’s exhibition we invited “Month of Photography Denver” [MoP] director Mark Sink to be our juror. Mark, who is a noted photographer and curator in his own right, has championed contemporary photography in the Denver region for many years, most notably through MoP and the now-shuttered Gallery Sink.

Ultimately, Mark chose 65 images by 57 photographers, chosen from more than 450 images submitted by 90 members of CPAC.  In his statement, Mark writes that through this exhibition he made several new discoveries and became reacquainted with many people. Those are some of the joys and benefits of every annual show. I thank all of our members for supporting the gallery and congratulate everyone whose work was chosen for inclusion in The 2014 Members Show.

Rupert Jenkins, CPAC Director

Mark Sink is founder and director of MoP (Month of Photography) in Denver, Colorado, where he coordinates over one hundred eighty regional galleries, museums and art spaces biannually to celebrate photography. The next MoP is scheduled for March 2015. In addition to curating extensively for MoP projects, Mark regularly curates exhibitions at MoP’s host venue RedLine, where he is currently a resource artist.

Mark is also an internationally recognized photographer in his own right. In 1991, he co-founded the Museum of Contemporary Art / Denver and opened his own gallery space, Gallery Sink. He is a regular portfolio reviewer for the Houston FotoFest Meeting Place, SPE, and Photolucida. He is always looking for unique talent for his many ongoing curatorial exhibitions, projects and collection placements, and regularly places the artists he reviews with various gallery and museum exhibitions. This is an outstanding opportunity to have your work seen by MoP’s principle curator as preparations for the 2015 conference get seriously underway.
