Using the iPhone and focusing on just a few apps, Karen will help you find the “magic in the mundane” and the “poetry in the commonplace” and integrate these concepts into a final piece. Through practical demonstrations and a “field trip” in our immediate surroundings we will learn to combine the images using ProCamera, Hipstamatic, Image Blender, Mextures and Snapseed as well as Leonardo (time permitting) in order to express your own unique vision as a photographic artist. Karen Divine is an award-winning photographer who is known internationally for her masterful composite work using the iPhone.

You will love using your phone in an entirely creative way – follow up with Karen’s Innovative iPhoneography: The Next Step for advancing your creative goals and skills.

Supplies: iPhone, charger, notebook and pen. Class includes photographing outdoors, dress appropriately!

About the Instructor: Karen Divine was first introduced to photography in the early 1970’s and went on to study painting, drawing, and alternative photographic processes. While she finds that creating a beautiful single image is crucial to being a fine-art photographer, it is the multi-image that speaks to her heart. Karen is an internationally recognized artist with more than a dozen prestigious awards for her Photography and iPhone Art. These include the 2011 Discovery of the Year Nominee from International Photography Awards, the Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers, the Prix de la Photographie Gold Award, and a first place WPGA Pollux Award. Her work has been exhibited around the world.
