In this workshop we will explore ways to use your digital SLR camera and your macro lens to transform your botanical photography from good to great.  Among the subjects we will discuss in this class are various equipment options, the proper conditions for photographing indoors and outdoors, lighting, backgrounds, choosing the best subject, depth of field, and, other helpful tips for using a macro lens with flowers and plants.  The workshop includes use of studio lighting and various botanical still life items that will be provided (such as flower arrangements, glass objects, fruit, fabric, and other items), and if the weather permits we will also go outside and practice outdoor techniques.  The class consists of lectures and practicing the techniques together with plenty of time for individual help.  Students will have the opportunity to have the work they created in class reviewed and critiqued via overhead projection.
