Join artists Tailyr Ann Irvine, Eli Farinango, Camille Seaman, and Citlali Fabian from Indigenous Photograph with Samantha Johnston Executive Director & Curator at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center.
The Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC), in collaboration with Indigenous Photograph, present a curated outdoor exhibition that will be digitally projected on the Daniels & Fisher Tower as part of Night Lights Denver during the 2021 Month of Photography Festival.
The work on display was created by members of Indigenous Photograph, a global community of visual storytellers who come from a diverse range of Indigenous communities across six continents.
“Together, these images constitute a portrait of life during 2020. And though we struggled through the COVID-19 pandemic and widespread civil unrest from the United States to Nigeria to Hong Kong, we hope these photos will also show you some quieter moments of hope and connectivity from life across Indigenous territories.”
Special thanks to The Denver Theatre District and Night Lights Denver for making this exhibition possible and supporting the 2021 Month of Photography Denver festival.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Jamie Torres
The Denver City Council honors and acknowledges that the land on which we reside is the traditional territory of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho Peoples. We also recognize the 48 contemporary tribal nations that are historically tied to the lands that make up the state of Colorado.
We honor Elders past, present, and future, and those who have stewarded this land throughout generations. We also recognize that government, academic and cultural institutions were founded upon and continue to enact exclusions and erasures of Indigenous Peoples.
May this acknowledgment demonstrate a commitment to working to dismantle ongoing legacies of oppression and inequities and recognize the current and future contributions of Indigenous communities in Denver.
