Objective:
Move beyond the fundamentals of Affinity and develop a more intentional approach to image editing. Learn to combine layers, masks, selections, adjustments, and retouching techniques to create sophisticated photographs while maintaining an organized, manageable workflow.
Course Description:
Once you understand Affinity’s basic tools, the more important question becomes: What does the photograph need, and how do you make it happen?
Join photo educator Eric Hagemann for this two-part online class focused on the craft of advanced image development in Affinity.
Rather than studying individual tools in isolation, this class concentrates on building a thoughtful editing process. Eric will demonstrate how to evaluate a photograph, identify a desired outcome, and select the techniques needed to shape tone, color, contrast, depth, and the viewer’s attention.
Students will explore more sophisticated masking and selection techniques, luminosity-based adjustments, blending, advanced retouching, and strategies for building complex edits while maintaining a manageable layer structure.
Throughout the class, Eric will emphasize the importance of understanding why an adjustment is needed before deciding how to make it.
By the end of the course, participants will have a deeper understanding of Affinity and a more systematic approach to developing their photographs.
