Objective:
Students learn skills in black & white film photography including shooting, developing, printing, toning, and other experimental techniques. No previous photography experience is necessary.
Course Description:
This workshop is about play, creativity, learning, and experimentation in the black & white darkroom. Using provided plastic cameras, we will photograph on the Red Rocks Community College campus. We will develop our black and white film in class and make prints using a variety of creative techniques including double exposures, photograms, selective development, toning, and more. Inspirational examples of many types of film and print techniques will be shown, and students will have adequate time to photograph and print in the darkroom. Parents are invited to see the print work at the end of the workshop.
