CPAC’s Permanent Collection:

Over 800 fine art prints donated since 1963

The Colorado Photographic Arts Center’s Permanent Collection was established in 1963 with gifts from many notable photographers including Ansel Adams and Philippe Halsman. Today, it holds more than 800 fine art prints donated by 180 artists, offering a rare historical overview of 20th century photography.

The collection represents some of the world’s most celebrated photographers, such as André Kertész, Imogen Cunningham, Bernice Abbott, Ansel Adams, and Richard Misrach. It also includes work by relatively unknown master photographers such as Winter Prather and R. Ewing Stiffler, as well as contemporary artists such as Phillip Toledano, Wendel White, Jamey Stillings, Zora Murff, Barbara Ciurej and Lindsey Lochman.

On April 1, 2020, CPAC published the entire collection online for the first time. We are currently working to expand item descriptions to provide additional context. In the meantime, we encourage you to explore and enjoy this incredible educational resource.
