Objective:
This workshop gives you an opportunity to consider the plethora of options available for sequencing imagery, moving from creating diptychs to building photobook layouts.
Course Description:
This is an online workshop with a six-week duration. We will be meeting on Zoom for hour and half long sessions. These will consist of a mixture of slideshow-based lectures and sharing your work-in-progress.
Assignments will be provided to create a structured flow through your learning process.
This is open to all skill levels, all that is required is a desire to participate, any type of camera and curiosity about the process of pairing images. The focus of this workshop will be on creative process and sampling a wide variety of methods for pairing images. The goals include increasing confidence in creating flow, working in experimental ways with your image archives and moving from working on our computers to working with prints.
TOPICS COVERED
All students will gain knowledge in:
- Creating diptychs
- Visual flow
- Sequencing
- Considering final output such as: prints, zines, photobooks and shows.
- Collaborations and building photography community.
Materials Needed:
- Any type of camera
- Computer
- Internet connection
- Ability to use Zoom and share screen in the Zoom platform.
- Ability to source work prints or print at home.
