Film and Darkroom 1

+ 1 lab day per week (determined 1st night of class)

This class explores traditional silver-based darkroom for photographers of all skill levels. During the four-week course, progressive assignments help each student gain an understanding through practice and hands-on experience. Students will gain a clear understanding of traditional fine printing, applicable not only to the darkroom but to the digital world.  We will cover the basics of the fine print, darkroom etiquette, chemicals, composition, as well as critiques and preparation for showing your work. In addition to learning camera functions and proper exposure, students will learn how to both develop the film and create B&W silver base prints.
