Objective:

Students will learn to create fine art black & white archival inkjet prints to match artistic intentions.

Course Description:

Fine Art Black & White Printing is a workshop for photographers who want start printing or improve their black & white inkjet printing skills. This workshop is taught from the perspective that the fine art print should reflect your artistic intentions. Students will learn how to make better captures intended for black & white, converting color captures to B&W and editing images in Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, and Silver Image Efex Pro. Also discussed will be creating, downloading, and using ICC paper profiles; monitor calibration, soft proofing, image sharpening and noise reduction, image toning, as well as paper selection. Students will have an opportunity to apply their newly learned skills by printing one of their photographs on 13×19 Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta Satin inkjet paper, using CPAC’s Canon Pro-1000 printer.
