Objective:

Learn the fundamentals of fine art inkjet printing in both black-and-white and color. This one-day workshop introduces participants to the digital printing workflow, from file preparation and soft proofing to paper selection and print evaluation, while building the skills and confidence needed to continue printing in CPAC’s digital lab.

Course Description:

This one-day, in-person workshop is designed for photographers who want to start printing or improve their fine art inkjet printing skills. Students will learn how to prepare both black-and-white and color files for print using Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, with attention to soft proofing, ICC profiles, paper selection, and evaluating the final print.

Participants will have the opportunity to apply these skills by making three 13 x 19 inch prints and one 24 x 36 inch print during the workshop. The smaller prints will allow students to refine their files and evaluate results, while the larger print will introduce them to large-format output on CPAC’s Canon PRO-2100 printer.

By the end of the class, students will leave with finished prints in hand, a stronger understanding of digital printing workflow, and the knowledge and ability to use CPAC’s digital lab with greater confidence for future editing and printing projects.
