In this class we will talk about the formal elements of art and how they apply to photographs. We will study line, shape, pattern, point of view, object relationship, light and shadow, color, and other elements of art and design that make up the visual language in photographs. You will have the opportunity to share your photographs and get feedback on what is working, and how you can use your awareness of formal elements so that your eye for composition can become stronger. Day 1 we will introduce the concepts and discuss the current photos of participants. Assignments/exercises will be suggested for the next class. Day 2 we will review formal elements and look at photos taken by the participants after the concepts have been introduced and discuss what has changed.
