Course Description:
In this fun, dynamic workshop, we will study, discuss, and practice the art of photographing people. Through daily walks and photographic exercises, students will learn how to create compelling portraits of their peers in class. What defines a photographic portrait? How can a photograph be made that expresses something unique and essential about that person? How does the rapport and relationship between photographer and subject effect the final image? We will look at various available lighting techniques with an emphasis on the use of natural light. We will learn by viewing examples and making portraits to share and critique with our fellow students.
