This is an introductory class for those who have always wanted to try large format photography but don’t want the expense of buying all the assorted equipment and supplies. We will provide the cameras and all the necessary equipment as well as film for you to get an introduction to what large format photography is truly like. This will include 4×5, 5×7 and 8×10 field cameras, tripods, film holders, light meters, B+W film, and RC paper will be provided.
Friday is the introduction lecture, Saturday is spent in the mountains near Denver exposing film with the field cameras, and Sunday is spent at the CPAC darkroom developing and proofing the film from Saturday.
Required supplies for this program:
- Notebook and pen or pencil for taking notes
- Saturday and Sunday – Lunch, snacks, and water
- A work apron (optional)
