Objective:
In this week-long workshop, students (14 and up) move beyond beginner methods into intentional creation of portraits and documentary street photos using the tool they carry with them most often-a smartphone.
Course Description:
Cell phones are ideal photographic tools for telling stories, capturing portraits, and being
discreet when photographing in public. This workshop, best for older teens, ages 14 and up,
focuses on storytelling, composition, portraiture, and evaluating, anticipating, and
capturing a sense of place and the people in public places. We take daily guided photo
walks and edit our work with internal phone apps and the Snapseed app.
Students will have a chance to print 4 of their favorite images during the week. Parents, friends and family siblings are encouraged to attend the final slide show of student work (at the new CPAC gallery!) on Friday June 23 at 11:30 am. Any smart phone with a camera that can run the Snapseed app, (download link below) will work for this workshop.
