Objective:

In this four-day workshop, students will learn the art of candid street photography as well as making posed street portraits through daily photo walks around The Golden Triangle Creative District in Denver.

Course Description:

Every city moves to the beat of its own unique drum and through street photography, we can slow down and frame-by-frame, tell the story of our city. In this engaging workshop for all experience levels, students will learn to master the manual settings on a digital camera while learning how to use elements of color, light, and movement to create dynamic images. Through daily photo walks, students will learn to see beauty in the mundane, magic in the details, and learn more about themselves and the people they share the streets with. Plus they’ll learn how to approach people to make street portraits. We will begin each day with a lecture to learn about our cameras, the history of street photography, plus ethics and safety practices. We will follow that with a photo walk, then wrap up back at CPAC for lunch and editing that day’s photos for review.

• Digital SLR Camera, extra batteries, memory card*

• Adobe Lightroom Classic
• Note-taking materials

• Comfortable walking shoes
