This workshop is for all photographers who wish to improve their digital image editing skills. The ability to fine tune a digital image with Local Adjustment Tools is often the difference between a great photograph and a mediocre one. Ansel Adams said, “Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships.” In our digital era, we can go well beyond mere dodging and burning and adjust color hue, saturation, and luminance of specific colors in precise areas. In order to accomplish this, we need the ability to make exact selections during the editing process. In October of last year, Adobe completely revised the selection and masking process in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom, and Adobe Camera Raw to more closely mimic the excellent AI powered selection tools found in Photoshop. These new tools give photographers using Lightroom the ability to automatically select subjects, and invert or subtract portions of selections based on luminance and color values. Adobe has called this new selection enhancement the single biggest improvement to Lightroom since 2008. Whether you use Lightroom Classic, Lightroom, or Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop and you want to improve your selection and local adjustment image editing skills, this workshop is for you. During the workshop we will work on a few provided images and participates will receive a copy of all presentation materials.
