Objective:

Learn & practice the value of creating diptychs (including sequencing images and showcasing perspectives), this technique will give students the foundation for developing larger projects by creating successfully paired images.

Course Description:

Diptychs open up a vast array of opportunity for creating meaning with paired photographs and they are the foundation of sequencing images. During this four-week workshop led by Morgain Bailey, participants will be given a large number of tools for understanding exactly how successful diptychs work. Each week will start with an inspirational slideshow of examples of various types of methods for pairing images. This will be followed with a supportive group critique session. Assignments will help guide participants through a creative learning process that includes the opportunity to collaborate with one of your fellow photographers.
