Objective:

Students will learn the basics of a successful website- including simple design, a strong bio, SEO, image uploading, social media links, sales pages – and then learn how to create their own custom website through Squarespace, a popular web building platform.

Course Description:

This workshop is open to creatives of all mediums, web-design experience is not necessary. Students will learn basic skills using the Squarespace platform. Topics such as as bio writing skills and preparing images for the web will be covered, as well as learning how to maximize SEO (search engine optimization) and the basics of messaging and selling. All students will begin building websites during the course, and receive workshop feedback from both the class and instructor. The workshop goal is to eliminate the stress and fear many artists have about building a website, and to place students in a position to share and potentially sell work through an online platform.

Materials Needed:

  • Computer with updated browser (Google Chrome or similar)
  • Zoom account (free) for access to class*
