Fashion/Culture, originally exhibited at the McNichols Civic Center Building, showcases contemporary Colorado based artists that use photography to explore the intersection between art, fashion, beauty and culture. The diverse group of works reflects the many connections between Denver’s growing fashion and art communities. Artist in this exhibition explore themes such as roles of gender and identity in reference to fashion, the affects of fashion in our culture and ideals/ideas of beauty. The contemporary works and site specific installations are contextualized by a selection of vintage photographs from the CPAC archives and the Colorado History Museum archives creating a dialog between past and present.

Featuring these Artists: Sara Ford, Mark Sink, Kristen Hatgi Sink, Richard Alden Peterson, Sydney Kovac Peterson, Jordin Paige, Candice Knutson, Marla Rutherford, Reese St. Germain, Derrick Velasquez, Laura Shill, Jenn Crowe, Melanie Watson, and Charlie Price with Amber Fries. Plus vintage photographs from the History Colorado archives.
