Personal Visions: Discussions with Veteran Writers and Artists is a series of talks with writers, photographers, and other community members about their experience creating art after serving in the U.S. military. Veterans, members of the military community, artists, and the general public are encouraged to attend.
Panelists will include contributors to Still Coming Home: Denver Veterans Writing, a new anthology of creative writing by local military veterans published by Colorado Humanities in collaboration with the Denver Veterans Writers Workshop. These writers will be joined by Denver-area veterans who completed CPAC’s 2018 Veterans Workshop Series, a five-month program of advanced photography courses. An exhibition of the artists’ photographs will be on view in CPAC’s gallery during all three events.
Each event features different panelists and moderators, making it a deeper experience for those who attend all three, but participants are welcome to attend one or two.
This event series is a collaboration between Colorado Humanities and CPAC, who were each awarded Arts in Society grants in 2018 for programs that support veterans in the arts. Arts in Society is a collaborative grantmaking program funded by Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Colorado Creative Industries, and Hemera Foundation, and administered by RedLine Contemporary Art Center.
