For July’s PhotoVox, join us at the CPAC Gallery for a candid conversation with Collin Parsons Director of Galleries and Curator at the Arvada Center, Todd Edward Herman founding director of East Window Gallery, and CPAC Executive Director & Curator Samantha Johnston, this panel will offer practical advice and insights into the exhibition process with local spaces.

MEET THE SPEAKERS
Collin Parson
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Collin Parson is an arts administrator, curator, educator, and artist with more than twenty years of leadership experience in the arts. He currently serves as Director of Galleries and Curator at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, where he is committed to amplifying the voices of contemporary Colorado artists and fostering meaningful dialogue within the state’s creative community.
Parson is a former member of the historic Pirate: Contemporary Art cooperative and a past artist-in-residence at RedLine Contemporary Art Center in Denver. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Design and Technology, with an emphasis in lighting and scenic design, from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Master of Arts in Visual Culture and Arts Administration from Regis University.
Todd Edward Herman
Todd Edward Herman is a visual artist and curator. Throughout his career, Herman has collaborated with artists on books, films, performances and exhibitions all over the world. He is also the founding director of East Window Gallery and co-founder of Sins Invalid a performance project that incubates, celebrates and centralizes artists with disabilities, artists of color, queer and gender-variant artists.
Samantha Johnston, Executive Director & Curator
Samantha has been the Executive Director and Curator at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center since 2015. She holds a certificate in Arts Development and Program Management from the University of Denver, an MFA from Lesley University College of Art & Design, and a BFA from Alfred University. Prior to joining CPAC, she taught photography and visual arts for 12 years at high schools in Boston and Denver.
She has curated exhibitions with contemporary artists such as Jess T. Dugan, Daniel Coburn, Barbara Ciurej & Lindsay Lochman, and Zora Murff. Samantha has served as a reviewer at Houston FotoFest, Review Santa Fe, PhotoPlus New York, Medium, Filter, PhotoNola, and Month of Photography Denver (MOP). She has juried several exhibitions including Critical Mass and The Fence.
ABOUT PHOTOVOX
PhotoVox is a monthly program offered by the Colorado Photographic Arts Center to help you strengthen your artistic voice with the support of other photographers and artists in the Denver Metro community. Meetings are held monthly at either CPAC’s downtown gallery or virtually on Zoom, and feature discussions led by local arts and community leaders. Two sessions per year are dedicated to portfolio sharing (Print Share).
