ABOUT | March means Month of Photography! This month’s PhotoVox programming will look a little different as we present a free virtual seminar on alternative methods for presenting photographs sponsored by Digital Silver Imaging.

A matted and framed print isn’t always the only option. In this virtual show-and-tell presentation, Eric Luden of Digital Silver Imaging will discuss the finer points of finishing a print for exhibition and display. Questions pertaining to archival stability, durability, and cost will be addressed along with aesthetic consideration. Finishing is often the most expensive part of making a print, this seminar will help you make the right finishing decision and give you some budget friendly alternatives.

Topics will include:

  • Mounting substrates explored – Foam core, Gator, Dibond, Aluminum
  • Protective coatings – types of coatings and purposes
  • Lamination – when and how to use this option
  • Framing alternatives

Digital Silver Imaging (DSI) is the first, and only, New England-based photo lab to integrate photographic laser technology and classic black & white printing. This technology is why Eric Luden started this lab in 2008. Since 2008 DSI has added color pigment inkjet printing, mounting, matting and framing.
