Objective:
Participants will learn how to make their own pinhole cameras, paper negatives, and silver gelatin prints.
Course Description:
Students will have the opportunity to learn how to make their own pinhole cameras, learn how to expose, develop, and troubleshoot paper negatives, and make contact (positive) prints from their exposures. This class is suitable for any skill level, as beginner darkroom techniques will be explained in a hands-on, accessible way. The skill of manual troubleshooting will be developed through darkroom experimentation, as well as other skills such as making exposures, paper developing, and contact printing. The end goal is to have fun, work together, and bring home some experimental images and prints!
TOPICS COVERED
All students will gain knowledge in:
- Pinhole camera making
- Paper negative making and exposing
- Making positive contact prints from a paper negative
- Reprinting and fine-tuning -Troubleshooting

- Cardboard boxes (small)
- 1 per person Aluminum cans-
- 1 per person Pin
- 1 roll black gaffer tape
- Scissors
- Ilford multigrade RC (provided by CPAC)
