This workshop supports photographers who want to develop new or ongoing projects documenting the landscape and built environment. We will focus on the creative process in conversation with art history and personal experience. A wide range of approaches and interpretations of documentary landscape will be encouraged. The workshop will begin with an overview of the history of documentary landscape photography and will include a weekly assignment designed to inspire you to work in new and unconventional ways.

The weekly meetings are designed to help participants advance in their work and artistic process. We will look at historic documentary landscape photography as well as contemporary artists. Participants will present their new work and receive encouraging feedback from Morgain Bailey. We will be inspired by a diverse array of  sources, including LGBTQ, BIPOC and international artists.

This workshop will leave you feeling inspired and equipped with new tools for engaging deeply with your environment through the media of photography.
