In this four-part workshop, participants will take a scientific tour through the optics of light behind photograms and explore how different materials can offer creative exposures. Using these discoveries, participants will create and tell a story with photogram illustrations.
Groups exercises will start with simple experiments with optics and light. We’ll review historical and contemporary artists using photograms, and participants will develop a narrative and practice exposures in the darkroom. Participants will come together at the end to share their images and discuss their discoveries along the way.
