Objective:
Students learn skills in composition, exposure, natural lighting and storytelling using digital cameras to document urban life in the areas surrounding CPAC. No previous photography experience is necessary.
Course Description:
Explore and photograph the areas surrounding the Colorado Photographic Arts Center in Denver’s Golden Triangle Creative District. Students will use a digital camera to capture the area’s buildings, neighborhoods, and people. After each walking “urban safari,” students will work on editing and sequencing photographs to tell a visual story. We’ll be traveling on foot together and focusing on a variety of elements including framing, color, texture, natural lighting, and whatever else we discover. We will also look at some photographic stories told by other photographers to help students better understand the history and techniques of street photography.
