Today is Colorado Gives Day, and we need your help! For every donation CPAC receives by midnight through ColoradoGives.org/cpacphoto, we’ll receive part of an incentive fund.⁠

Thank you to Ray Rinaldi and @denverpost for spotlighting Tell Me a Story in our new space at 1200 Lincoln Street. ⁠

Tell Me a Story explores the idea of photography as a format for storytelling, but in a very specific way. What is the power, the show asks, of a single image, to relate a complex human tale? And this isn't the only question that emerges from seeing our new exhibition.⁠
⁠
As Rinaldi remarks, "Each is a mystery without quite enough clues to solve. They hint at a bigger tale, giving us neither the beginning nor the end, just a split second of the action...Either way, they are riveting, and the show is exceptionally cohesive and relentlessly on point. Viewers might find the shots inspirational or be annoyed by the whole exercise, though they will, no doubt, stare for a very long time."⁠

⁠A big thank you to everyone who showed up last night to support the opening of Tell Me a Story! It was an incredible evening of celebrating photography and the narratives told through such artistic dedication. ⁠
⁠
Juror Mary Statzer chose photographer Jesse Freidin (@jessefreidin) for the Juror's Award. ⁠
⁠
Freidin was America's leading fine art dog photographer for the past 15 years, and now focuses on elevating the experience of the trans/tgnc community through portraiture and interviews. His photography is part of over 150 private collections and has been exhibited in galleries from coast to coast. ⁠
⁠
His current series entitled “Are You OK?” documents the faces and stories of trans/non-binary youth in the United States ready to stand up to political annihilation. Flanked by supportive families, a diverse group of outspoken and deeply loved youth present their strength and joy to the world in a revolt against the country’s attempt to erase them.⁠
⁠
Freidin will also be teaching a workshop with us in March 2024 on website building for artists through the Squarespace platform. Use the link in our bio to learn more and register.⁠
