Teach With Us!

Photo by CPAC instructor Christopher James – “Denver in the Dark” students on location

CPAC is currently looking for new instructors and course proposals to promote the growth of our faculty, adult education, and youth programs. CPAC instructors vary from seasoned professionals to recent MFA graduates looking to build their resume after graduate school. Rates of pay vary according to experience and course specifics.

We offer the most diverse curriculum of photographic classes and workshops in the area outside of formal university programs. Courses range from traditional darkroom and historic processes to smart phone, digital camera, and software.  Our student body is comprised of seasoned artists eager to learn new techniques, commercial photographers seeking to establish their businesses, and beginners learning the basics.

We are seeking specific course proposals for new courses as well as our established core curriculum. Classes and workshops vary from 1 day intensive workshops, 3-5 day “camps”, and 4 week, 12 hour classes that meet once per week. New class/workshop proposals will ideally differ or compliment our current offerings.  Please take a look at our current schedule to see our core curriculum and extended course offerings.

Please submit your proposal along with your resume/CV to [email protected]  We will contact you directly for an interview and further discussion of your proposal.  No phone calls or walk-ins please.

Proposal criteria

• Course description and syllabus with a general outline of what will be covered in class.
• Lab materials, computer programs needed, pre-reqs, and any supplemental resources that either CPAC or the students must provide.  (It is helpful to have a per student cost estimate for these materials.)
• Specific facility space requests for the course (ie: B&W group darkroom for 5-weeks | Studio space for group critique)
• 3 professional references
• Cover Letter and resume

About the facility

While the majority of our classes take place at our facilities in Belmar, our darkroom is located offsite in Denver and many  courses are held at the instructor’s studio or in other areas appropriate to the course. Please look through our website for a comprehensive list of facility resources: darkrooms, studio, classroom space, etc.
