Cyanotypes, Photograms & Collage
Explore camera-less ways to create photographic images. Cyanotypes are blue and white images exposed outdoors with the sun and then developed in water. Discovered during the 1800’s, cyanotypes can be made using objects that students bring from home or find in the area of the CPAC. Photo transfers are made onto a board transferring photos that students bring from home or print at the center. Photograms are black and white images we’ll make in the darkroom utilizing objects and photographic paper. All three processes are hands-on ways to make your own images.
Required supplies for this program:
- Paper notebook and pen or pencil
- Lunch
- Water bottle, SPF, hat, sunglasses (encouraged)
Please note: In response to COVID-19 we have reduced this class size to 8 students in order to maintain safe distance practices. We are holding the workshop in person, but if needed we may transition online or cancel it as it gets closer to the event. Please visit our response page for more information.
