THE FENCE is a juried, traveling outdoor photography exhibit highlighting outstanding images from around the world. This major public art exhibit is on a national tour of eight U.S. cities, and will arrive in Denver in late August 2019.

A jury of 70 leading photography and art professionals has selected the artwork, which will be installed along a 500-foot weatherproof banner on display at Cherry Creek Park through November 2019.

Please join us for a Walking Tour on Saturday, August 24 at 2 p.m. Please meet in the parking lot behind Cherry Creek Shopping Center near the bike path.

THE FENCE is organized by United Photo Industries (UPI), a New York-based organization dedicated to increasing access to the art of photography, in partnership with CPAC.

Now in its 7th year, THE FENCE draws millions of visitors annually to exhibitions in Brooklyn, Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Santa Fe, Durham, Denver, and Calgary, Canada.

THE FENCE provides exposure and career opportunities to participating photographers, while providing unprecedented access to powerful photographic narratives for a wide and diverse audience. A full list of participating artists can be found on THE FENCE website.

In addition to the national exhibit, THE FENCE’s Denver edition features work by nine regional artists: Matthew Defeo, Brian Fouhy, Andrew Forestell, Paul Sisson, Javier Alvarez, Beth Johnston, Wendi Schneider, Preston Utley, and Portia Hensley.

The 2019 Jury features an impressive roster of photo editors, curators, and photo professionals, including CPAC Executive Director Samantha Johnston and Advisory Arts Council member Mark Sink.
