THE FENCE is a juried, traveling outdoor photography exhibit of outstanding images by 41 photographers from around the world. The exhibit is on a tour of eight U.S. cities, and will be on view in Denver August 15 – December 2, 2019.
The exhibit is installed along a 500-foot banner at Cherry Creek Park behind the shopping center (near the bike path). The 7th Edition is currently on view until October 15th followed by the 8th Edition that will be installed on October 16th.
THE FENCE provides exposure and career opportunities to participating photographers, while providing unprecedented access to powerful photographic narratives for a wide and diverse audience.
A full list of participating artists can be found on THE FENCE website. The Denver edition includes a special section featuring nine regional artists: Matthew Defeo, Brian Fouhy, Andrew Forestell, Paul Sisson, Javier Alvarez, Beth Johnston, Wendi Schneider, Preston Utley, and Portia Hensley.
The 2019 Jury features an impressive roster of 70 photo editors, curators, and photo professionals, including Samantha Johnston, CPAC Executive Director, and Mark Sink, artist, photographer, curator, and CPAC Advisory Arts Council member.
THE FENCE is organized by United Photo Industries (UPI), a New York-based organization dedicated to increasing access to the art of photography, in partnership with CPAC.
