Although landscape photography may seem like the easiest or most obvious variety of travel photography, creating an impactful and unique photograph takes practice and a plan. Each type of landscape presents its own challenges and rewards, so whether you’re embarking on a tour of the African plains, or a cruise through the Caribbean islands, you’ll have your work cut out for you. By thinking about a clear subject and dynamic composition, learning to make the most of your gear, and seeking out the most dramatic conditions, you’ll be well on your way to creating fantastic landscape images. For this 2-day workshop, we’ll split our time between the classroom (where we will explore Gear Selection, Intentional Composition, and Special Considerations for six unique types of landscapes) and the field, where we will utilize the gorgeous landscapes available in our own backyard to practice the principles we’ve discussed. By completion of the class, you’ll be prepared to walk into a scene, identify what it is that draws your attention, and create visually impactful images.
This hands-on curriculum has been developed from Jordana Wright’s book The Enthusiast’s Guide to Travel Photography.
